SD EMSC and Pre-Hospital Agencies

Focused Care for Kids in Emergencies

South Dakota Emergency Medical Services for Children (SD EMSC) works with pre-hospital organizations to make sure that children receive the best care possible when emergencies happen. Our office works to ensure that all the agencies across the state have access to the tools and education that they need to be peds ready.

Our Goals:

Pediatric Readiness
Pediatric readiness is the level of preparation a pre-hospital organization has to provide care for children. It includes the resources, guidelines, and training needed to care for sick and injured children.

Quality Improvement
Our program helps pre-hospital organizations improve by encouraging the adoption of evidence-based practices and ongoing learning to achieve better results for children in emergencies.

Training and Education
SD EMSC promotes training programs and workshops to enhance healthcare workers' ability to manage pediatric emergencies, fostering a culture of readiness and responsiveness.

Coordinated Care Systems
At SD EMSC, we are dedicated to fostering systems that promote seamless collaboration between emergency services, hospitals, and healthcare providers.

SD EMSC strives to ensure that pre-hospital organizations are prepared to provide excellent care for children in South Dakota, ultimately improving emergency care outcomes.
